Employee Appreciations

How to enable and post appreciations on the Company Newsfeed.


With Namely Appreciation, you can give recognition to your employees and peers right on the company newsfeed. Appreciations are documented and visible on employee profiles, during performance reviews, and in reporting that can be pulled by administrators.

Note: Before you can access appreciations, you must contact Namely to enable this feature on your platform.
 

Enabling Employee Appreciations

To turn employee appreciations on your company newsfeed on or off:

  1. On the homepage, click the Company tab.

  2. Click the Settings tab.

  3. Click Home Page Updates.

  4. Select the checkbox next to Enable appreciation.

Note: Only access roles with the necessary permissions can enable appreciations on the newsfeed. To learn more about configuring your company newsfeed, see Company Newsfeed.

 

Posting Appreciations on the Company Newsfeed

To post an appreciation of an employee:

  1. Click Appreciate in the newsfeed post box.

  2. Type an @ symbol and begin typing the employee's name.

  3. Select their name from the dropdown menu.

  4. Type your message.

  5. Click Share.

Viewing Employee Appreciations

To view appreciations employees have received, click Appreciation on the employee's profile.
 

Enabling Appreciation Notifications

Enable Notifications Company-Wide

To enable company-wide notifications for employee appreciations:

  1. Click the Company tab.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Notifications.

  4. Under User has been appreciated, select how you want employees to receive appreciation notifications:

    • Email Notification: Employees will receive an email notifying them they've been appreciated.

    • Site Notification: Employees will receive an alert notifying them they've been appreciated in the Namely platform.

    • Allow employees to determine which notifications they receive: Employees can determine whether and how they receive appreciation notifications.

  5. Click Save

Update Personal Notification Settings

If enabled, employees can update how they want to receive notifications for appreciations. This will override any company settings. For more information, see Personal Account Settings .

 

Viewing Appreciations in a Performance Review

An employee's appreciations are viewable on their talent card during their review cycle.

To view an employee's appreciations during a performance review:

  1. Click the arrow next to the employee's name to expand their talent card.

  2. Click Appreciation

Running an Appreciation Report

To generate a report of all employee appreciations that have been posted in the newsfeed:

  1. On your homepage, under Admin Tools, click Reporting.

  2. Click Create New Report.

  3. Under Select Report Type, select Appreciation.

  4. Click Create Report.
